Polebarns/Horsebarns
Every polebarn from White Oaks Construction is built to fit your needs. To determine the cost of your building, we listen to your ideas and consider factors that pertain to your specific project, giving you an accurate pricing estimate.
Using posts in the ground (or alternative foundation options), wood framing and wood trusses, post-frame buildings provide a structure that is superior in strength and dependability.
Here’s how a polebarn is
constructed:

Secure the posts
Holes are dug, approx 3 ft deep and a bag Quickrete is put in the bottom of hole. The post is then tamped in hole with dirt.

Alternate method
Or a concrete footer and/or wall will be poured and post anchored to the concrete.

Add further support
2’x10′ or 2’x12′ headers are nailed to the sides of the posts and 2′ by 6′ Y brace in between

Prepare for roofing
All post walls are braced and trusses are set 2 foot or 4 foot on center. 2 x 4 purlins are nailed on top of trusses for roofing.

Prepare for siding
2 x 4 or 2 x 6 purlins are nailed to the outside of the posts for siding.
